Celebrating Convention 2020 Philanthropy Award Winners

by Sarah Rayman in Focus on Philanthropy

Although the 2020 Biennial Convention was canceled, we want to recognize and celebrate the biennium’s Excellence in Philanthropy award winners! These chapters exemplify the spirit of philanthropy through chapter philanthropy events, service, and education. We also want to celebrate Alpha Phi chapters that have had significant fundraising success over the past biennium and in cumulative giving since the chapter’s founding.

Please give it up for this biennium’s chapter awardees!

Martha Watkins Mast Spirit of Philanthropy Award

The Martha Watkins Mast Spirit of Philanthropy Award is named in honor of longtime Foundation Chair Martha Watkins Mast (Beta Nu-Duke). The awards recognize one collegiate chapter and one alumnae chapter each biennium whose support of the Foundation through education, service, and philanthropy is exemplary.

The collegiate chapter winner is selected amongst the 16 Qualifiers from the last two Leadership Conferences. This biennium, Delta Nu (Maine) and the Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter are the recipients of the Martha Watkins Mast Spirit of Philanthropy Awards!

Delta Nu (Maine) put their whole heart into every event they host: Red Dress Gala, Alpha Phifa, Move Your Phi’t, and Mac N Phis. The women of Delta Nu prioritize education on women’s heart health, as well as the other program areas of Alpha Phi Foundation. Their service efforts are numerous, contributing to their well-rounded and generous chapter spirit. Follow @umainealphaphi on Instagram and check out their philanthropy videos and informative Instagram highlights, too!

Our sisters of the Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter demonstrate their dedication and passion for Alpha Phi Foundation through the care and planning that goes into their annual Red Dress event. This year due to COVID-19, this group of women chose to forge ahead and host a virtual Red Dress instead, and found success! Thank you for your philanthropy!
