This month’s Chapter Spotlight is on Gamma Omega (Midwestern State) who welcomed over 100 attendees to their inaugural Phifa Soccer Tournament! Vice President of Marketing Katy Miser gives us the scoop.

Event Name: Phifa Soccer Tournament
Event Location: Midwestern State University
How many times have you held this event? This was our first!

Tell us a little about the event:
We held a one day soccer tournament from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. with eight teams participating. It was an extremely successful event with tons of food, music and soccer fun!

Who attended your event?
All Alpha Phi members were present along with other Greek organizations who formed teams. Teams mainly consisted of Midwestern State students. We even had a small league soccer team from Wichita Falls come out to play too!

How did you publicize the event?
We made flyers that we hung all over campus and set up a booth in the student center inviting people to the tournament. We also posted a registration link online and had our entire membership share it on their social media accounts.

What changes would you make to this event in the future?
The weather was really cold the day of our tournament (held in October) so maybe plan for a warmer time of year.

What was your favorite part of the event?
I really enjoyed watching everyone have a good time playing in the tournament and seeing people from the university come out to cheer on their friends.
